Joy graduated from George Washington University with an M.A. in Education and Human Development, specializing in Educational Technology Leadership.
Joy is also a classically trained vocalist who earned her degrees from Stetson University (B.M.E.) and Converse College (M.M.), where she studied with Jane F. Rolandi and Beverly Hay. She has appeared in many regional productions, including performances with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, the Spartanburg Repertory Company and the Spartanburg Philharmonic. A few of her favorite and memorable roles include Sally in Die Fledermaus, Nancy in Albert Herring, and Lucy in The Telephone.
During her decades of singing and teaching in the music, arts
and religious sectors, Joy began to explore the world of
technology and web work, which led to employment in various
capacities in the educational technology field.
Currently, Joy serves as
assistant professor and Director of Teaching and Engaged
Learning and Quality Enhancement at a college
in South Carolina.
